Friday and Concrete Canoe Races

Well we presented and raced our concrete canoe, Inviscid, today. The girl's endurance team (the one I steered for) had a mishap with a detached buoy, and so we had the opportunity to race again. We were cruising! The first time we raced, we got 13 seconds later than the first place team. On our second time around, we were 8 seconds after the first place team - at 5 min and 53 seconds - which put us in second place; I am completely stoked about that. We did great getting 2nd place out of 8 teams - I was surprised that my steering skills got us through the course that fast. Our team was amazing.

I then raced in the co-ed sprint as well. We got 2nd place in a neck-and-neck end at the finish line - we lost by 6-in. and half a second. It was a lot of fun. But racing three times has completely exhausted me.

We went to Famous Dave's to eat and celebrate our victories.

I called and talked to Chuck today; I told him all about my day. He told me that he worked on his longboard, did some guitar lessons, worked, and ate a buffet. We're both staying busy and having fun, but can't wait to see each other again.
